I'm always surprised at how many people have not used an inflatable before. So many charters are based in marinas these days. All the kit opposite is to be found in the deck locker.

Inflatable

The inflatable has two valves for inflation and deflation, their positions marked here by an x .

Inflatable

The valves are important as many of you will not be familiar with their operation.

The little white X is the working bit of the valve it is spring loaded and can be in a permanently open or permanently closed position. You open or close the valve by pushing the X valve stem in and turning it left or right. Rollover.

Valve

Here you can see the valve in operation without the finger in the way. Rollover

Notice that as well as going in the valve rotates slightly. When the valve is closed, that is OUT, in the original picture, you can pump air in and when you remove the pump hose it stays in there. If you have the valve set inward or in the open position you can still pump the inflatable up but when you remove the pump hose the air will rush out.
Not a happy pumper after all that hard work!
Of course you want the valve in the open position when you deflate the dingy and roll it up.
The last position of the valve will have been the open deflation position, so always check the valve is closed before connecting the pump. You will only loose the air once or twice before you learn your lesson. Happy pumping.

Valve
Pump the front up first. Not life threateningly important, but the seat always seems to be firmer if you do. Infatable

The seat is an optional extra. Fit it or not it's your shout.

Seat

This item is not optional and is the one piece of kit that has people scratching their heads and wondering what it could possibly be. Of course it looks obvious now you are seeing the pictures. Simply roll the bracket into the rubber fittings. Rollover

Bracket

Job done with all four points of the bracket securely home.
